Remember Bill Hader in last year’s Pringles Super Bowl commercial? That’s okay, no one else does either, which is a shame because Bill Hader is wickedly funny and talented guy.
Pringles has opted not to hire a celeb for this year’s spot — which will continue the flavor stacking theme kicked off by Hader in 2018 — and has opted instead to feature an Alexa-inspired smart speaker as the star of its 30-second, second quarter ad.
In a series of teasers for the spot (check them out here), the smart speaker is seen lamenting its inability to dream or taste Pringles. It’s not funnier than Bill Hader, but it’s probably cheaper, so whatever.
