Hard Rock and Little Caesars (both rookies) announce Big Game spots

Hard Rock International and Little Caesars — both rookies on advertising’s biggest stage — have announced that they will each suit up for the Big Game.

Hard Rock will use its 60 seconds in the second quarter to promote its chain of hotels and casinos (though not the restaurants the company also owns). The spot was directed by action and explosions aficionado Michael Bay and was filmed at Hard Rock’s new guitar-shaped hotel and casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Little Caesars has purchased a 30-second ad in the third quarter, which will star Rainn Wilson (best known as Dwight Schrute from “The Office”). The commercial will highlight Little Caesars’ new delivery service.

Historically, pizza chains purchase spots early in the game — or even in the pre-game — with the goal of convincing viewers to order some of their pizza for the festivities, which makes Little Caesars’ late-game entry a bit curious.

Below, check out two Little Caesars teasers starring Dwight — we mean Rainn. The first one will give “The Office” fans flashbacks of this classic scene
