Kia spot to star Christopher Walken…and a sock puppet?

Kia is a bonafide Super Bowl advertising veteran, poised to make its seventh straight appearance in the Big Game. (By the way, what qualifies someone as a Super Bowl advertising “veteran?” Five or more appearances seems about right.)

The carmaker’s spot last year featured former Bond lead Pierce Brosnan in an ad called “The Perfect Getaway” (check it out below). According to news shared directly with SpotBowl by a Kia representative today, the 2016 ad will feature a man who has already done some voiceover work in recent Kia spots — Mr. Christopher Walken.

No other details have been released about the spot for the Optima mid-size sedan, but a representative for Kia promises more updates in the coming weeks. We can assume the ad will include some humor judging by the sock puppet Walken wears in the teaser image above. We’ll take Walken with a sock puppet, but Walken demanding “more cowbell” would have been way cooler.
