Kid-Friendly Planning

OK, so you’ve got kids, your friends have kids and you’re bummed thinking about the good old days when you all got together for a raucous football party. Hey, we’ve got your back! Here are some tips for throwing a great SpotBowl party that keeps both adults and kids happy:

  • Let your friends know that they are welcome to bring the kids because you’re getting a sitter to watch them all. You can even ask them to chip in a few bucks. Trust us, it will be worth it.
  • Make sure the sitter you hire is good-natured, trustworthy, reliable and capable of handling how ever many kids are coming.
  • Set aside a special room for the sitter and kids – the basement, playroom or one of the kids’ bedrooms. Stock the room with plenty of activities and games. It wouldn’t hurt to have a TV with a DVD player in there with a few family friendly movie options.
  • Let your friends know that there will be alcoholic beverages (assuming there will be) so if your peeps include a few nervous Nellies, they can take any precautions they want. Forewarned is forearmed, right?
  • Plan a menu that appeals to kids and adults alike. We’ve provided an extensive list of recipes that will appeal to all ages.
  • Have a quiet area for kids to nap later in the evening if they’re tired.
